I finally decided to send out newsletters to the franchisees
Podcast Marketing is the method of creating and publishing audio and video programs via the Internet.
Nokia 5800 Xpress Music has a powerful 3.2 mega pixel camera.
In fact, although the actual "business model" was the same, the operations were far from similar, and we'd learned to adapt to the climates, seasonality, and differences in customer perception in
the different areas of our nation. Things got even more intriguing as we grew internationally with different rules, laws, and ways of doing things - wow, what a culture shock indeed. Someone in
Washington State giving advice by email to someone in Portugal on how to run their mobile car washing operation was rather laughable in hindsight, although the franchisees sure loved communicating
with one another, and yes, I obviously encouraged that, it was a big morale booster.
Eventually, I noted that bad advice was permeating our organization, the advice was not bad from the originator's perspective however, it was less-than-stellar for the receiver in a totally
different climate and market. Thus, I finally decided to send out newsletters to the franchisees and explain in the articles such differences, and it made our team think, I called these
newsletters; Letters from Lance - after I read Michael Dell's Book, a biography and history of how he built Dell Computers and his famous; "Messages from Mike" internal newsletter.
That seemed to solve the problem, and then the franchisees better understood what I knew about regional variations, and the advice got better, and the team grew stronger and closer together, as
franchisees learned what everyone else was doing - what worked, what didn't, and why. From then on when explaining operational advice to each other, they'd always throw in the caveats such as;
"well, here is what I do, but remember it gets cold up here in the winter time, you might not have that problem," and our challenges were solved.
Okay so, franchisors need to be thinking here, as today communication is even speedier with social networks, and you need to keep the team focused and reality based for their individual markets.
Please consider all this, think on it, and then act on this information in your organization. Once upon a great hit in the market, the Nokia N91 has taken a little backseat off late. The handset is
a little expensive as compared to its competitors and has been taken over by many other model.
